Mike was cast in the role of HANK SPILMAN in the tv series, The WANNABES. The Wannabes are played by the actual pop recording group, Savvy, formed in 2004. Since then they have all had intensive training in singing, dancing and acting. Savvy has performed over 400 live concerts from coast-to-coast in the United States, including headlining the Radio Disney's "Feeling Groovy" tour. Discovered by Doreen Spicer, the group has been recording tv episodes since summer of 2009 at the Parker High School in Howell, MI. When asked of his experience with Savvy and the taping of the show, Mike had only good things to say about them. "The kids were great. Very professional. They have been working very hard, not only as musicians, actors and dancers, but also as high school students--doing their homework on the weekends and after each rehearsal and show taping. Bill Dear, the director, was fantastic to work with. He allowed me to experiment with different takes, and really bring out the character of Hank Spilman, which was a sleazy teen club owner that tries to get the kids in on a contract to play at his club, which turns out to be a scam. I hope to work with these people again. Very positive bunch" Mike shot this episode titled, "Wacky Manager" during the week of March 15-18th, 2010. |
